Incentives for ® National Board Certification As of January 2003, legislative and policy action creating incentives and recognition for National Board Certification has been enacted in 49 states and in approximately 454 local school districts, including the District of Columbia. About NBPTS Standards ØNBPTS Board of Directors appoints teachers to serve on standards committees.
