Modern Apprenticeship - Deck Rating Starting May 2017 for two years. Intention to offer this programme annually and tailor to industry requirements.

Modern Apprenticeship - Engine Room Rating Intention to offer this within the next few months subject to industry demand.

Engineering Cadetship • HNC programme starting in September 2017. • Traditional five phase programme.

Deck Cadetship • HNC/D programme starting in September 2017.

Courses that feed in to the Cadet Programme… • Skills for Work – Maritime and Engineering (14 -16 yr olds) • Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering (1618 yr olds) • National Certificate Engineering Practice

HND Nautical Science Top Up Course 11 students started in January, aim to complete October 2017. All college based, but month in/month at work basis. Intention to offer again in 2018, with any amendments based on student/company feedback.

HND Marine Engineering Top Up Course Under development – intention to offer in 2018/19.

MCA Approved Engine Course We are now offering AEC courses. Flexibility can be offered with dates based on customer demand.

STCW Short Courses Before end 2017: • Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention 2018: • Advanced Fire Fighting • PSC+RB • Fast Rescue Boat Course ALL FULL COURSES AND REFRESHERS AVAILABLE IN SHETLAND BEFORE END 2018.

Developments • Dedicated Workshop Instructors. • State-of-the-art GMDSS exam suite. • Improved Pneumatics and Hydraulics facilities. • Upgraded Bridge Simulator.
