MY STUDIES AT THE INSTITUTE I’m a first-year student of Minsk Institute of Management. It is situated in Lazo Street in Minsk. The institute was founded in 1991 by Nickolay Susha, present rector of the institute, Doctor of Economics, Professor. The total area of 22 buildings owned by the institute is over 20 000 square meters. Our institute comprises three departments. They are departments of Law, Economics, Accounting and Finance. There are 17 chairs at the institute. Some of them are: economic theory and world economy, foreign languages, information technologies, design and others. The institute has very good up-to-date equipment. There are 13 modern computer labs with Internet access; 10 language labs; more than 60 classrooms equipped with modern educational facilities; 4 TV studios. We have a large library with 3 reading halls, a gym, several sports grounds, a medical center, a photocopying center, 2 bookshops, 5 cafeterias at our disposal.

About 3000 full-time and over 9000 distant-learning students study at our institute. 320 qualified tutors and lecturers including 35 professors and 135 assistant professors provide efficient teaching at the institute. Our students are engaged in various kinds of sport: mini foot ball, chess, shooting, table tennis. There is a Social Activity Center in the institute. This Center aims to discover and develop students’ talents. It also introduces different cultural programmes. Our institute cooperates and develops international contacts with different foreign educational establishments from such countries as the USA, the UK, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Kazakhstan, Moldova and the Republic of Korea.
