A pharmacist is a specialist with higher pharmaceutical education, graduated from a Medical Institution or a Pharmaceutical Academy.
Pharmacists are responsible for preparing, dispensing, storage and selling of drugs. They also advice their patients, physicians and other specialists on the selection, dosage, interaction and side effects of medication.
Pharmaceutists can work in chain drugstores at hospitals
in analytic al laboratories at plants
in Government in armed serviced at public institutions
DEPENDING ON THE DUTIES, PHARMACIST MAY WORK AS A: Clinical Pharmacist - provides pharmaceutical care of patients. It includes qualified consultations on conditions of rational drug use: storage, time of intake, interaction with other drugs, etc.
Hospital Pharmacist – is purchasing medicines and advises doctors and patients on the rational drug therapy.
Clinicist - is a pharmaceutical specialist involved in clinical trials and pre-clinical studies of new drugs.
Pharmacist-technician –a specialist who works in clinical or biochemical laboratory.
Pharmacist should meet the following requirements: - should be healthy; - should possess good communication skills;
To become a pharmacist one should achieve knowledge in different subject. He must know Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacy Administration, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and other subjects very well.
