«My favorite sportsman» Melentiev Artem

Sport is important part of our life. My favorite kind of sport is skiing. I have been liking this sport from since I was a kid. This kind of sport is something that will always attract me.

But… …I also like ski-jumping! Sportsmen descend a special ramp which is so called inrun, jump from the end of this ramp and try to “fly” as far as possible. I really admire how brave these sportsmen are

Thomas Morgenstern:

Interesting. Part 1. My favourite sportsman is an Austrian skijumper Thomas Morgenstern. He is one of the most successful ski-jumpers. He competed for about twelve years. His career started in 2002 and his debut was quite successful. He took part in many competitions such as the Nordic World Ski Championships, the Ski-Flying World Championships and the Olympic games.

Interesting. Part 2. Each competition with his participation was something special for his fans. We knew that he would achieve high results. Thomas Morgenstern got many medals. He has fourteen gold medals, three silver medals and three bronze medals. He also has 23 individual wins and 16 team wins

Interesting. Part 3. Thomas Morgenstern is a very brave sportsman. In 2014 he sustained severe head injuries during training. Fortunately, he. recovered and even took part in the competition. However, his individual results were not so good as usual. Sometime after that in 2014 he decided to retire from competitive ski-jumping and announced about that. I hope that one day he comes back to ski-jumping, maybe, as a coach…
