Biography l Raised in Lemmon, SD l Graduated from Northern State University in May Biography l Raised in Lemmon, SD l Graduated from Northern State University in May 1990 with a double Major in Business Education and Management. l Moved back to Lemmon and worked as a parttime parts person for an electrical firm and substitute taught for about one year l Hired by Lemmon School District as a secretary in April 1991.

Students cannot escape it so schools should help them learn how to use it to their best advantage l Technology needs to be incorporated into ALL curriculum areas so students are exposed to the many areas it can be used l

Thoughts & Concerns l I actually did it! l I am amazed at how Thoughts & Concerns l I actually did it! l I am amazed at how hard it was to get back into the “student” role l Knowing “where” and “how” to get the answer is more important than “knowing” the answer. l My goals are big—especially for this summer— and I need to remember to keep the “goal” in mind while I am dealing with the “details”

Concerns and Thanks l Money was a concern—I worked hard to complete this degree Concerns and Thanks l Money was a concern—I worked hard to complete this degree without taking out a single loan. Took me an extra year, but I got it done!! l The order of classes should be considered when making the student’s schedule. EX. APA & programming class should be one of the so this information can be utilized throughout the whole program l DSU staff was always willing to go the extra mile to help me l The MSET program helped me meet new colleagues and friends as well as reconnecting with past acquaintances

Thanks & Thoughts l Thanks to my family for their unbelievable support of mom/ Thanks & Thoughts l Thanks to my family for their unbelievable support of mom/ grandma going back to school l Thanks to my fellow teachers for all their understanding when I have asked them to “help” me by incorporating technology for one of their assignments so I could complete one of my assignments. l I need to find some hobbies to take up all the time classes have been consuming l I need to work hard to help my staff see how technology can enhance their curriculum, not add more work. l This summer and next year will be a huge challenge— incorporating 1: 1 at the elementary, moving the “old” laptops to the elementary and keeping them running as well as purchasing new laptops to grades 7 -12.
