Extra Credit Policy • In an effort to encourage students to obtain extra help Extra Credit Policy • In an effort to encourage students to obtain extra help and tutoring in this science class, the following extra credit will be given: • One (1) point will be earned for each thirty (30) minutes that a student spends in after school tutoring. The student must be engaged in meaningful study, work, and supervision. • For each unit test given, a maximum of ten (10) percentage points can be earned. • The extra credit time must be spent in additional supplementary work of the student. Making up tests, quizzes, individual assignments, and labs are not considered supplementary work and will not result in extra credit time. • In addition, other extra credit assignments might be given by the teacher throughout the term. However, the teacher is under no obligation to give these extra credit assignments. • The student must understand that this extra credit is a gift, not a right. If this procedure becomes cumbersome for the teacher, or if students are abusing this arrangement, then the extra credit procedures will be terminated at the sole discretion of the teacher without discussion.
