GODLY MOTHER • As CHRIST followers let’s understand what is to be a Godly mother and how being a Godly mother impacts, influences her children. Mothers write on the hearts of their children what the rough hand of the world can not erase.

GODLY MOTHER • Godly mother is a godly woman first and as such is to be devoted to God. (Devote: 1. to give up; 2. appropriate to; 3. concentrate on) • When raising her children, Godly mother raises them as having the qualities of God. • In doing so she has great influence on her children; in other words – she influences the future of this world.

HEY, MOTHERS, DIRECT YOUR CHILD … Proverbs 22: 6 (NKJV) Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. (Pr. 22: 6 (NLT) Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it) TRAIN UP (Hanak) dedicate, John 14: 6 Jesus said to him, inaugurate: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. Matthew 7: 13 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide [is] the gate and broad [is] the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Matthew 7: 14 "Because narrow [is] the gate and difficult [is] the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

GENUINE FAITH AS THE HERITAGE • 2 Timothy 1: 3 -5 (NKJV) I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, 4 greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, 5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. Godly women (Lois & Eunice) had a PROFOUND INFLUENCE on Timothy’s life and through him on the lives of many …

Never to busy to do the work for Christ • (1: 5 - when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also). • Here Paul is reminded of Timothy’s “genuine” (sincere) faith. • In Philippians 2: 20 -21 Paul has this to say about Timothy: “For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus” (NKJV). • Paul noticed that most believers are too busy with their own needs to take time for Christ, but not Timothy, Paul is saying here that there is no one like Timothy! Timothy was never to busy to do the work for Christ !

• Eunice and Lois had a practical influence on their son Timothy because they knew their responsibility in TRANSFERING the TRUTH. You can tell your kids about the truth of the Holy Scriptures, but it is much different and far effective to “TRANSFER” the truth. How are you transferring the Truth to your children? What are your actions saying about your faith? • So many homes today are not Christ-centered; there are not only the homes of the unbelievers, there are “Church-going Christian” homes that are not Christ-centered.
