Tate Britain is an art gallery situated on Millbank in London, and part of the Tate gallery network in Britain, with Tate Modern, Tate The First Day… Liverpool and Tate St Ives. It is the oldest gallery in the network, opening Tate Britain 1897. It houses a substantial collection of the works of J. M. W. Turner. I have been wanted to visit this museum, because I admire the art of Britain 19 -20 centuries…. (my impressions)
Buckingham Palace has served as the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837 and today is the administrative headquarters of the Monarch. Although in use for the many official events and receptions held by The Queen, the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every year. It is pride of Great Britain, halls indeed royal dainty ! (my impressions)
The Second day…. Baker Street is a street in the Marylebone district of the City of Westminster in London. It is named after builder William Baker, who laid the street out in the 18 th century. The street is most famous for its connection to the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, who lives at a fictional 221 B Baker Street address. The area was originally high class residential, but now is mainly occupied by commercial premises. Baker Street is one of a number of London landmarks named in the song "We Are London" by Madness on the album The Liberty of Norton Folgate. (my impressions)
Oxford street Oxford Street is a major thoroughfare in the City of Westminster in the West End of London, United Kingdom. It is Europe's busiest shopping street, and as of 2011 had approximately 300 shops. [1][2] The street was formerly part of the London-Oxford road which began at Newgate, City of London, and was known as the Oxford Road. Today it forms part of the A 40 trunk road, although like many roads in central London which are no longer through routes it is not signposted with the road number. Roughly halfway along Oxford Street is Oxford Circus, a busy intersection with Regent Street. A diagonal crossing at Oxford Circus opened in 2009, currently the only one of its kind in central London. Each Christmas Oxford Street is decorated with festive lights. The Christmas lights began in 1959, five years after the neighbouring Regent Street began the tradition. The lights were abandoned in 1976 and 1977 due to economic recession, returning in 1978 when Oxford Street organised a laser display. (my impressions)
The Third Day…. Vauxhall Park Hyde Park, London «…Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in central London, United Kingdom, and one of the Royal Parks of London, famous for its Speakers' Corner. The park was the site of the Great Exhibition of 1851, for which the Crystal Palace was designed by Joseph Paxton. The park has become a traditional location for mass demonstrations. The Chartists, the Reform League, the Suffragettes and the Stop The War Coalition have all held protests in the park…. » «Vauxhall Park retains a number of its original features together with some new ones which serve modern users of all ages and interests. These include a popular children's playground, a Montessori Nursery and One O'Clock Club, a set of formal gardens, a new lavender garden (laid out on the site of an old bowling green) and a splendid little model village…. » One of the most unforgettable and essential to be visited, seen and admired is the famous Hyde Park. Vauxhall Park , oh, it`s so beautiful and so…small (my impressions)
