Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov visited Pyatigorsk many times. In 1837 he was exiled to Pyatigorsk for his poem “Death of the Poet”. The last time he was in the town in 1841. From this place he liked to admire of white-snowed top of two-headed Elbrus and all the Caucasian Chain in the light of the sun. That’s why you can see his monument in Lermontov’s Square

Alexander Alyabyev was born August 4, 1787 in a family of tribal nobility in the city of Tobolsk Alyabyev recieved a good education at home , and was introduced to music lessons since childhood. Family governor , who was the patron of the local theater and orchestra , never missed practically no play or concert. , where his father Alexander ( 1746 -1822 ) served as vice - governor.
