Mirror of memor Touching pictures
Alzheimer's World Bang Your Head Against the Wall.
Something had to change. And that something was me.
When someone living with Alzheimer’s believes something to be true, it is true – in Alzheimer’s world.
Do not ask me to remember, Don’t try to make me understand, Let me rest and know you’re with me, Kiss my cheek and hold my hand.
When you look at a person, any person, remember that everyone has a story. Everyone has gone through something that has changed them.
Do not lose your patience with me, Do not scold or curse or cry. I can’t help the way I’m acting, Can’t be different through I try.
When dementia strikes the majority of us are overwhelmed by the stigma attached to Alzheimer's. Our brain tells us, there is NO HOPE.
The distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.
I know three people who have got better after a brain tumour. I haven’t heard of anyone who’s got better from Alzheimer’s.
Each day I watch my mother walk. I hear her sigh, I hear her talk. Alzheimer’s is stealing my mother away, And she grows worse each passing day. She often seems to live in the past. Please dear God, how long will this last? Each day I watch my mother walk. I hear her sigh, I hear her talk. I watch daily as she slowly dies. I can’t help her, and yes…I’ll cry.
Just remember that I need you, That the best of me is gone, Please don’t fail to stand beside me, Love me ’til my life is done.
I meet and talk to Alzheimer's caregivers all the time. It is not unusual for them to tell me that as time goes on, and as Alzheimer's worsens, one by one their family and friends fade away…
Presentation created by Tatyana Maurer. In the process of creating used pictures of Photographer Tom Hussey, soundtrack from movie “Shindler’s list” and quotes from different forums of Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for watching.
