Continuing Medical Education Programs MOA Annual Spring Scientific Convention 1 The largest osteopathic convention in the state of Michigan providing an average of 30 AOA Category 1 -A credits annually. MOA Annual Autumn Scientific Convention 2 Held in Grand Rapids, this MOA Fall Convention is held in November providing an average of 12 AOA Category 1 -A credits annually. This convention is held in May and has more than 1, 000 active D. O. s in attendance. NMOA Convention 3 Always held in the Upper Peninsula, the Northern Michigan Osteopathic Association offers an average of 20 AOA Category 1 -A credits annually. This convention is held in June. How does your MOA accomplish everything we do for you? Where can you find the opportunities to be actively involved in your profession?

MOA House of Delegates 1 2 Meets annually in May. Delegates are appointed from each component society around the entire state. 3 Elects new officers for the Association. 4 Elects delegates to attend the annual American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates in Chicago. 5 Receives reports and updates on the status of the Association. 6 Acts on resolutions and matters of policy for the MOA and the AOA.

MOA Board of Trustees 1 2 Comprised of 13 members from across the state, an Intern-Resident Trustee, and a Student Trustee. Members are elected at the MOA House of Delegates from regional associations. 3 Meets five times per year. 4 Each Board member oversees a department within the Association. 5 Oversees the activities and policies of the Association. 6 Any MOA member can attend a meeting; contact the MOA office for information if you would like to attend.

Component Societies The MOA is organized into five regions. Anyone interested in joining their local component society should contact MOA headquarters.

AOA Council for Interns and Residents 1 3 An organization for ALL osteopathic interns and residents. Meets annually. 2 4 Represented by the AOA Congress of Interns and Residents. Covers various issues affecting interns and residents.

MOA Resident of the Year Award The purpose of the award is to recognize and honor an outstanding osteopathic resident from Michigan who exemplifies: • Commitment to the osteopathic philosophy and the profession in Michigan; • Compassion and commitment to patient care; • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated use of those skills; • Commitment to the community in Michigan; • Commitment to the education and enrichment of self and others, including but not limited to continuing education, teaching, research and publication; and • Must be a member of the Michigan Osteopathic Association.
