Communication Matters Research Strategy • Research that will underpin a statutory right of an individual to assessment of need and where appropriate the provision of AAC and ongoing support services • Research that aims to influences local and national policy and practice and leads to better services and interventions for people who use AAC by understanding their needs, the impact of specific impairments and the difference being able to communicate effectively brings • Research that promotes community learning and creates opportunities for people who use AAC and their families CM 2008
