Mean and sds of arterial Pa. O 2 (a) and Pa. CO 2 (b) in 632 patients during SHFJV. Mean Pa. O 2 was higher than 100 mm Hg during the entire application of SHFJV. Pa. CO 2 was always within the acceptable range 42– 46 mm Hg. Patients with co-existing disease (subglottic/tracheal stenosis, COPD, hypocapnia, etc. ) had higher levels of Pa. CO 2. Rezaie-Majd A et al.
