Marie Sklodowska-Curie
Biography Maria Skłodowska was born in Warsaw, in the Russian partition of Poland, on 7 November 1867, the fifth and youngest child of well-known teachers Bronisława, née Boguska, and Władysław Skłodowski Maria graduated from the underground women's higher rates «Flying University» . In 1894, in the house of the Polish emigre physicist Marie Curie met Pierre Curie. In 1895, Pierre and Marie married. Curie died on July 4, 1934 of leukemia in a small town hospital Sansellmoza in the French Alps.
After Becquerel discovered radioactivity effect Curie encourages her husband to do research in this direction. They first worked in the institute's storeroom, and later in the shed in Paris.
