Abraham Harold Maslow (1908 – 1970)
Key Points Abraham Maslow expanded the field of humanistic psychology to include an explanation of how human needs change through an individual's lifespan. Maslow's hierarchy of needs ranked human needs from the most basic, physical needs to the most advanced needs of selfactualization.
Maslow's levels of human need were physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. Maslow studied the personalities of selfactualizers and found that they had many things in common.
