Lubart Castle – the landmark in Lutsk
Lutsk (or Lubart’s) Castle is the main historic monument of Volyn Region. The city of Lutsk was founded in 1083. Then Prince Volodymyr the Great annexed the Volyn region to the Kievan Rus’ state.
Castle was build under Liubart-Dmytro Gademinovich, in the XV century the castle becomes the southern residence of the great Lithuanian Lords- Litovt and Svidrigailo…
The castle has three towers: the Gate, the Bishops and the Styr tower connected with each other by brick walls with military galleries. The Gate tower The Bishops tower The Styr tower
Many people come to the castle especially on weekends and holidays when knights give demonstration shows and then the sounds of iron swords are mixed with falcons cries. Of late these birds have made their nests in loop-holes of the castle and become the symbol of revival of the castle.
