The Situation A typical Cal Poly Pomona student must commute to school every day from home in Riverside. Traffic is horrible and gas prices are at record highs. The student is currently financially independent. At this time, the student has three different options: * Student can live for free at his parents house in Riverside * Student can live with an uncle who owns a house in Yorba Linda (Orange County) * Student can rent an apartment close to campus Which one of these options is more economical for the student?

Comparison Criteria Living at home (Riverside) Living with a relative (Orange County) Renting close to campus (Pomona) * House is owned by parents * House is owned by an uncle * 2 Bedroom apartment is shared with a roommate. * Cost of living at home (Food & Utilities) * Cost of living with relative (Food & Utilities) * Cost of living close to campus * Commuting cost ( 87 octane is used) * Additional living cost available? * Traffic * How convenient?
