Bronte sisters - Charlotte (1816 -1855), Emily (18181848), Anne (1820 -1848) British novelist, the founder of critical realism in English literature of the 19 th century. Bronte sisters were born in the village of Haworth in Yorkshire. In the city of Leeds born six children - a son and five daughters. After the birth of the youngest their mother died.
When Charlotte was eight years old, and Emily six, his father gave four older daughters to Cowan Bridge School. Conditions at the school, which trained governesses were terrible here died of tuberculosis two older sisters. Bronte took home sick Charlotte and Emily. Later, Charlotte went to a paid pension, but Emily and Anne were educated at home. After graduating from boarding school, Charlotte went on to teach there, and sisters began working as a governess in wealthy families.
In 1846 the sisters published a collection of poems under the name of the brothers Bell (Charlotte - Karrer, Emily - Ellis, Anne - Acton).
