Literacy Write a fable that contains a clear moral to help us in our lives. Write our own legend, using facts from the internet. Research what legends are. Use speech in the legend. Create our own machine and write an explanation about it. Science Maths Visit to MOSI in Manchester and conduct experiments showing changes of state. Know times tables up to 12 x 12 and get full marks on the quiz. Start to memorise division facts too. Find percentages of money and find out how much things would cost in a sale. Create our own fair tests, testing out how to reverse changes and which materials are good for different jobs. Find the objects with the largest perimeter and area in our school. Does a large perimeter also mean a large area? Write and perform our own myth based on a true event. Problem solving in context. Write a story using all the skills we have learnt throughout year 5.
