MO’s K-16 Initiative • The Missouri K-16 Task Force on Achievement Gap Elimination (K-16 MO’s K-16 Initiative • The Missouri K-16 Task Force on Achievement Gap Elimination (K-16 TAGE) was created to make policy recommendations that would improve teacher quality in an effort to close achievement gaps among under-represented students. • Research conducted for the K-16 TAGE showed that poor and minority students as well as students in urban school districts in Missouri had below average performance on a variety of outcome measures and had teachers with below average academic ability.
