Whether you are 12 or 112—or anywhere in between—you can know for yourself that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Read the Book of Mormon. Ponder its teachings. Ask Heavenly Father if it is true. We have the promise that ‘if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost’ (Moroni 10: 4). ”

Faust Has made the following statement: “We have been promised that the President of the Church will receive guidance for all of us as the revelator of the Church. Our safety lies in paying heed to that which he says and following his counsel” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1989, p. 11; or Ensign, Nov. 1989, p. 10; see also D&C 21: 4– 6).
