Lebanese history The earliest evidence of civilization in Lebanon dates back more than seven thousand years, predating recorded history. Lebanon was the home of the Phoenicians, a maritime culture that flourished for over a thousand years (c. 1550– 539 BC). In 64 BC, the region came under the rule of the Roman Empire, and eventually became one of the Empire's leading centers of Christianity. Throughout the centuries leading up to recent times, the country became part of numerous succeeding empires, among them Egyptian Empire, Persian, Roman, Armenian, and the Ottoman Empire. Uniquely, many of these empires left inscriptions in a single location, in the group of commemorative stela of Nahr el-Kalb.
Tourist attraction There a lot of different tourist attraction in Lebanon. People there are very friendly and hospitable. The languages spoken in this region are Arabic, French, and English so the tourists will not have a difficult time communicating with local people and vice versa.
The traveler attractions in Lebanon are the urban centers of Beirut , Baalbek and Jbeil. Beirut is oftentimes termed the “Paris of the East”. . Some of the favorite locations of tourists would be the Byblos or Jbeil, which is an old city in Lebanon
Aside from attractions in Italy and especially in Rome, Baalbek city's the best preserved assembly of Roman architecture, preserved today. • The second most important among attractions in Lebanon is an ancient city of Byblos City is among the cities survived 7000 years without being abandoned during the whole period of its existence.
Faraya is a very popular sky resort in Lebanon. It has an altitude ranging from 1300 m to 2300 m. The ski resort has 42 slopes and 80 km of groomed tracks. The skiing season in Lebanon is similar in length to that of the Alps stretching over a period of 4 months.
