Main facts: Eligibility: Existing Thematic Networks (38? projects) Submission Deadline: May 31 st 2007 (Postmark) Maximum possible funding: € 350, 000 (but for max. 3 years) Maximum level of grant: 75% of overall project costs Funding period: Until end of Thematic Network Contract Project length: November 2007 – September 2009 incl. Likely funding therefore: < € 250, 000 (ca. 2/3 of max. funding) Minimum partnership: 15 universities from at least 10 countries

Suggested structural concept: • Work mainly with existing ‘informal‘ LE: NOTRE partners • Divide partners into five ‘world regions’ • Each region to have a ‘critical mass’ of +/- 7 members (+/- 35 total) • Define specific ‘outputs’ for each region based on similarities of ‘defined needs’ • Use the 5 + 1 themes of the current project as the starting point • Maybe try to relate one of these to each region?
