The Unified Messaging system exist inside NS 1000. Expanding number of port or recording capacity, enhanced feature require Activation Key or replacing CF card.
Introduction The Voice Mail (VM) features consist of the features in the Unified Messaging system that handle incoming calls, recording messages and conversations, and managing mailboxes for extension users.

Chapter 1 Overview
1. Overview KX-NS 1000 provides Unified Communication features. • Voice Messaging : Built-in - Powerful Full Functioning Voice Processing System : Voicemail, 2 way recording, Handling incoming/outgoing calls, Subscriber features, and more. - Default Configuration : 1024 mailboxes, 2 ch voice mail port, 2 h recording time. Recording hours can be expanded by Activation Key : 2 hours to 15 hours Replacing SM (Storage Memory) card : 200/450/1000 hours While One Look networking and using independent UM - Each Built In VM work independent. - Each Built In VM has to maintain independently.

Overview Built-in Voice Messaging feature The NS 1000 provides the voice mail feature which will help you manage your voice communication needs. • Mailbox feature : for Voice mail • Automated Attendant (AA) feature • Interview Mailbox Service • Custom Service • Reporting feature UM takes over the functions of dedicate and separate TVA/TVM Voice processing system.
1. Overview Basic voice mail features for extensions. • For an extension user with a message box: - Record a personal greeting message to greet a caller and ask him/her to leave a voice message. - Play back and clear greeting messages and the voice messages left by callers. - Access remotely his/her message box through a trunk. To check and listen messages from outside of the office. -Presence base call handling etc. • For a caller: -A caller can leave a voice message after hearing the greeting message. etc

Overview Manager feature There are two types of managers: • System Manager - Configure mailboxes, change class of service (COS) settings for subscribers, etc. • Message Manager - Maintain the general delivery mailbox, change notification settings, record/delete prompts, etc. - Automatic 2 way Recording for Manager - Emergency Greeting set up
1. Overview Auto Attendant Automated Attendant (AA) answers incoming calls and callers can be redirected to the desired extension in one of the following ways: a. Dial extension numbers directly b. Spell the name of the desired party using the dial keys on their telephones c. Listen to all subscriber names and select the desired extension The service can be programmed for day, night, lunch, and break time modes.
1. Overview Interview Service Allows the Unified Messaging system to "interview" a caller by playing a series of prerecorded questions and recording the caller’s responses. As the callers answer questions, they are recorded into an interview mailbox.

2. How to work? Manager’s feature Management people can check conversation between agent and customer. The conversation can be seen by list and listened specific conversation through Web access to the UM box. KX-NS 1000 PSTN Conversation Record at UM box Web-MC UM
2. How to work? Operation by Telephone UM KX-NS 1000 FAX Machine Access to the mailbox from the telephone. - An user can listen the voice message. - Also, can transfer the FAX message to the FAX machine and print out the FAX. The Message Waiting Lamp on the telephone notifies that a new message (Voice / FAX) is left in the mailbox
2. How to work? Operation by mailer (With IMAP 4) UM KX-NS 1000 FAX Machine Access to the mailbox from mailer on PC. - An user can check left voice & FAX message visually.
2. How to work? EXT Owner’s feature –easy set up and maintenance. An extension user can record a personal greeting message to greet a caller and ask him to leave a voice message for example. Appendix Call handling by UM - Priority of call handling feature When a call is received from an outside party, the following call services can determine how the call is handled: – Automatic Login (Toll Saver) – Holiday Service – Caller ID Call Routing – DID Call Routing – Trunk Service – Port Service The service with the highest priority will handle the call. The order of priority is: Automatic Login (Toll Saver) > Holiday Service > Caller ID Call Routing > DID Call Routing > Trunk Service >Port Service.

4. Appendix Reporting Unified Messaging (UM) system reports can be generated in order to monitor voice mail operations. Reports can be displayed on a PC, printed, or exported.
4. Appendix Reporting - Mailbox Information Report - This report can give detail setting of each mailbox The mailbox information report displays configuration parameters from owner’s extension to e-mail options) for a specified mailbox or a range of mailboxes. 50 records are displayed at a time for this report.
4. Appendix Reporting - Call Account Report Based on each UM port Based on each mail box The call account report displays information about outgoing call activity. Information can be shown by UM port or by mailbox. The report includes date, starting time, used port, connection time, called telephone number, call type, exit status of each callout, total callouts number and the connection time for local or long distance call, and total number of outgoing calls. 400 records are displayed at a time for this report.
4. Appendix Reporting - UM Extn. Usage Report - The port usage report displays information about each UM port, such as connection time and percentage of time which each UM port was busy.
4. Appendix Reporting - Memory Card Usage Report - The memory usage report indicates the amount of storage space used and the amount of available space. Available space is expressed in minutes. Information for the number of messages stored in and deleted from the Unified Messaging system is displayed.

Appendix Reporting - Mailbox Usage Report - The mailbox usage report displays information for a specified mailbox or range of mailboxes, including the number of recorded messages, the total time of outgoing calls, external messages, message notification, group message delivery, and number of faxes received.
4. Appendix Reporting - Fax Transfer Report - The fax transfer report displays information about faxes received by the Unified Messaging system and transferred to a fax extension. It includes the fax reception date, the port number used, and the fax transfer status for a maximum of 64 fax messages.
4. Appendix Reporting - Fax Server Report - The fax server report displays the log of all sent and received faxes. The report includes the user name or mailbox number that sent or received the fax, number of pages of the fax document, and the result of the fax transmission or reception.
4. Appendix Reporting - Call Handling Statistic Report The call handling statistic report displays both a summary of and details of Unified Messaging activity over a specified period of time for the Automated Attendant service. This report includes the total number of incoming calls, transferred calls, held calls, calls which left a message, the result of transferred calls, etc.
4. Appendix Reporting - Custom Service Report - The Custom Service report displays information such as Custom Service settings, message recording status, number of access, time of access, and number of access to each key.
4. Appendix Reporting - Message Status Report - The message status report provides the status of all messages of specified subscribers, including faxes.
4. Appendix Reporting - Subscriber Setup Report - The subscriber setup report displays the basic settings (owner’s name, password, personal greeting, etc. ) for a specified mailbox or range of mailboxes.
4. Appendix Reporting - Security Information Report - The security information report displays information about mailbox accesses. The report includes the date of the last change and last access, number of total accesses, login, and failed accesses.
4. Appendix Reporting - Hourly Statistics Report - The hourly statistics report displays information about the number of incoming or outgoing calls, the connected time per hour, etc.
4. Appendix Reporting - View/Export/Clearing data To view a report Some reports can be viewed as a table or as a graph. To export a report A report can be printed from Web Maintenance Console or exported as a text file or CSV file. To clear a report For each report, all data can be cleared. Follow the steps below to clear all report data. Some reports can also be set to automatically clear at specified times. To automatically clear report data: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly, and specify the time, the day of week or day of month, and the month.
