King Middle School - The Basics n 6 th-8 th Grade n Approximately 900 Students n Approximately 100 total staff n Renovated Facility on over 10 acre campus n Block Schedule so 7 th and 8 th grades see teachers 3 x/week, 6 th graders are “cored” King Parent Night 4

Cohort Model of Support n Each incoming 6 th grade is assigned a vice principal, counselor, and two teacher specialists that stay with the class through 8 th grade. n Learning Center for all students including students with IEP’s (Special Ed) n Academic Support Classes n Counseling King Parent Night 5

th 6 n Grade The students stay together as a class. They have one teacher for math/science core and a different teacher for humanities core.
