Lilongwe • Lilongwe has an estimated 3 million people – 1. 2 million of which are orphans (AIDS) – Many without parents – Many children acting as head of house. . What does this mean? • 250 people diagnosed with HIV/day • KV - Home to 17, 000 people

5 Reasons why money is better than Equipment • 1 – There are no overhead costs 100% of money goes to the children (CIDA) • 2 – The needs of the children are not yet certain • 3 – It costs to ship equipment • 4 – Buying when I arrive will support local businesses • 5 – Malawian mail is not like Canadian mail
