We invite you to take part on a new Research Exchange program which organized by Department of Physiology in Karaganda State Medical University! You will use modern clinical and diagnostic equipment! You can come on any of these months √June √July √August √September
“Assessment of adaptive capabilities of the organism according to the degree tension of regulatory systems. “
Description of the project • Actual direction of fundamental and applied physiology and medicine is the study of mechanisms of regulation and functional interactions between regulatory systems. • Under the influence of complex of external factors arises the general adaptation syndrome. Adaptation to the new conditions is the result of the mobilization of functional reserves and requires a certain amount of tension of regulatory systems.
What techniques and methods will be used? • This study includes evaluation of adaptation of the organism by analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) using modern clinical and diagnostic equipment: electrocardiograph, spirograph, pulseoximetry, bicycle ergometer, rheograph. Status of regulatory systems is determined by the indicators of heart rate variability, the analysis of key performance indicators cardiointervalography.
What is the aim of the project? • The aim of the project is to design and scientific substantiation of methodical bases of system evaluation degrees tension of the regulatory systems of the human body using the method of analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) to identify promptly and assess the functional state of the organism on the verge of norm and pathology.
What is the role of the student and what is expected from him/her during the research exchange? • After theoretical course, student will independently record the electrocardiogram (ECG) in a multi-stage sample with dosage physical activity by using the program "Poly. Spectrum" at registration, ECG interpretation and the creation of the survey protocol; register rheoencephalography and reovazography; study ventilation of the lung using a spirometer "Spiro C -100"; and analyze the results.
What should be the outcome of the student’s participation on the research exchange project (paper, poster etc)? • The outcomes of the research for the student will be publication of scientific article in «Eastern European Scientific Journal» , a poster presentation, and coauthorship on any future papers, video report. The student needs to make a scientific report on a student conference.
What are the practical skills and the knowledge the student will acquire during the exchange program? • Students should demonstrate knowledge about the physiological research methods • Students should be competent in the electrocardiogram recording equipment • Students should master method of heart rate variability; • Students should get skills about prediction the likely over tension and exhaustion mechanisms of the adaptation and risk of forming disease.
“Effect of dust-salt aerosols to Aral Sea region in the development of pathological processes in experimental animals. ”
The aim of the project • The aim of this project is to evaluate the effect of dust-salt aerosols on an organism, as an example of the experimental animals at the molecularcellular, organ levels and characteristics of the adaptive capacity of the organism. • Methods: 1) high-performance liquid chromatography, macro and microscopic examination of sperm in experimental animals, • 2) identification of extracellular DNA and RNA, histone proteins in somatic and germ cells. •
Role • Implementation of seed dust and salt aerosols in experimental animals (white rats) • The study of scientific literature • Preparation of chemicals for the experiment • The slaughter of animals from the collection of biological material (biological fluids and organ tissue) • Macro and microscopic study of biological fluids in experimental animals • Identification of extracellular DNA and RNA, histone proteins • Analysis of the study results • Report writing • Writing an article in a peer-reviewed scientific journal
Working with experimental animals, the development of methods of molecular cell research. Scientific outcome of research is writing a report and an article in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
Requirements 1) Skills to work with scientific literature, microscope, laboratory equipment (chromatograph, centrifuge, spectrophotometer, dispenser, etc. ), chemical substances (acids, alkalis, corrosive substances). 2) Skills of preparation of experimental animals and working with body fluids. 3) Knowledge of molecular biology, anatomy, basics of chemistry (organic and inorganic), mathematical methods of analysis, biochemistry. *There aren't any legal limitatons in the student
You will use modern clinical and diagnostic equipment! You can come on any of these months √ June √ July √ August √ September
Type of students accepted This project accepts: - Medical students - Graduated students (less than 6 months)
Location is Karaganda City! Karaganda is the capital of Karaganda Region in Kazakhstan. It is the fourth most populous city in Kazakhstan. This is the home city of Kazakh World War II hero Nurken Abdirov. A statue in Abdirov's honor is located in the center of the city. Karaganda is an industrial city, built to exploit nearby coal mines using the slave work of prisoners of labour camps.
You are Welcome to the Karaganda State Medical University!
