Requirements for Work-Based Learning – Junior or Senior – Must have own transportation to/from school – Job should be related to a course already taken (or currently taking the same semester) – Example: Took Marketing Principles and work retail at J. C. Penney or you are currently taking Foods and you work at Chick-fil-A
Requirements for Work-Based Learning – Job can be paid (must have documented pay-stubs) or unpaid internship – Work hours requirements: – 1 period = 5 hours per week – 2 periods = 10 hours per week – 3 periods = 15 hours per week – Job must be lined up by first day of school (August) – Apply for & register for the course NOW!

– Excerpts from Junior Contract: – If a student is missing a required course for graduation, the student cannot participate in the graduation ceremony and … – A July graduation ceremony is available to students that attend a GCPS summer school and complete their graduation requirements. – If you choose to complete your requirements through any non-GCPS program, you cannot participate in the July graduation ceremony. – If a student failed a required test but has completed all other graduation requirements, the student can participate in the graduation ceremony and will receive a High School Certificate in place of a the High School Diploma. The diploma is awarded upon successful completion of all required tests.
