JOHN RONALD REUEL TOLKIEN (1892 – 1973)
• • John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born January 3, 1892 in Bloemfontein. His father, Arthur Reuel Tolkien(1857— 1895), was the manager of the bank of England. His mother was Mabel Tolkien (1870— 1904) from Birmingham. The coup moved to South Africa not long before the birth of their son, because Mr. Tolkien had a career development. • In 1945 Tolkien became a Professor of English language and literature at Oxford Merton College. He remained in this post until his retirement in 1959 • In 1948 Tolkien finished his work with novel «The Lord of the Rings» . It’s almost ten years since his first sketch. • In the early 1960 s, “The Lord of the rings" was released in the United States with the permission of Tolkien. It had a big success. The novel was liked by youth who was passionate hippie movement. They found in it a lot of ideas about peace and freedom
• In childhood John and his friends invented several languages to communicate with each other. This passion for the study of existing languages and the new design remained with him all his life. Tolkien is the creator of several artificial languages: Quenya, or the language of the high elves; Sindarin is the language of the grey elves Tolkien knew dozens of languages, new languages was largely guided by the beauty of sound.
