JINR TIER-1 -LEVEL COMPUTING SYSTEM FOR THE CMS EXPERIMENT AT LHC: STATUS AND PERSPECTIVES Tatiana Strizh LIT, JINR
Tier 1 CMS center in JINR was initiated by the project “Creation of an automated system for data processing of LHC experiments at Tier 1 level and provision of grid-services for distributed analysis of these data”, within the federal target program (FTP) of the RF Ministry of Education and Science “Research and developments on priority directions of the development of the scientific and technological complex of Russia on the years 2007 -2013”
The September 28, 2012 session of the WLCG Overview Board approved the plan of creating a Tier 1 -level center in Russia. The project foresees a staged gradual implementation. The first stage ended in December 2012. A Tier 1 prototype was created at NRC “Kurchatov Institute” and at JINR. The next stage (November 2014) provides the final deployment of the complex and commissioning of the full-scale Tier 1 center in JINR.
JINR: current state • Our Tier-1 currently supports CMS as the tape-less Tier-1 since October 2013; • Our resources were fully validated; • Our Tier-1 participates in CMS Multicore job scheduling project: o Able to run multicore glideins (12 cores) through two queues as of April 29 th o Large scale tests at Tier 1 s • Our Tier-1 was tested for high memory (6 GB) jobs

The Tier 1 centre at JINR is an important and prestigious project for the JINR member states. The resources and experience acquired while creating the Tier 1 center will be used for data processing and storage for the accelerator complexes NICA, FAIR and others
