Responsible Decisions Scenarios
Scenario #1 A. Take the pill based on Holly’s recommendations. She trusts Holly and doesn’t think her mom would take anything dangerous. B. Ask Holly to show her the bottle the medication came from and read the information found on it. C. Call Holly’s mother and ask if she can take one of her pills. D. Tell Holly thank you but she’ll wait until she can take the same medicine she usually takes for headaches, even if that means going home to get it.
Scenario #2 A. Skip his medicine and play in the game. No one has to know he didn’t take it and he really doesn’t want to feel like they lost because he didn’t have the energy to play. B. Talk to his coach about his idea and see if he thinks it would be a good idea. C. Take his medicine regardless of the effect on his energy level. He knows no game is worth him having a dangerous asthma attack on the soccer field.
Scenario #3 A. Take the medicine in order to help her study. It’s really important that she keep her grades up to keep her scholarship. B. Consult her older friends about what they think. They’ve already been in college for a while, so they should know about how important it is to study. C. Get some extra sleep, get help from her professors, and study extra hard on her own. Her brother’s prescription isn’t specifically for her and she knows taking it could be dangerous.
