INVOLVEMENT n Get involved in teams, clubs, or student council n Be a volunteer, ex. scorekeeper at games n Listen to announcements or view the monitors around the school and go to the meetings—find out if you would like to join, if not try something new
SHIFT OF RESPONSIBILITY n Not like elementary where Grade 7 teachers closely monitor you. Books and lockers – personal property n Now you must take control of your learning: do HOMEWORK, go for extra help, study for a quiz or test, learn to manage your time, etc. n Organize all your work – pages are dated and in sequence. Share with your parents what you are learning and doing at school. n Grade 8 students should do about ONE HOUR of homework each night
