In. Tr. Od. Uc. Ti. On • (9 May 1860 – 19 June 1937), more commonly known as J. M. Barrie, was a British novelist and dramatist. He is best remembered for creating Peter Pan, the boy who refused to grow up, whom he based on his friends, the Llewelyn Davies boys.

D • Born in Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland, the second youngest of ten children. • His family were Scottish weavers. • His mother and his brother david, died in a skating accident on the eve of his 6 th birthay. • Barrie was educated at the Glasgow Academy and in the University of Edinburgh.
Li. Te. Ra. Ry Ca. Re. Er • Barrie set his first novels in his birthplace of Kirriemuir, which he referred to as "Thrums". Barrie often wrote dialogue in Scots. • Barrie also wrote a number of works for theatre. • Barrie's most famous and enduring work, Peter Pan, had its first stage performance on December 27 of 1904.
• He became a journalist in Nottingham, then turned to writing and subsequently plays.

Ch. Ar. Ac. Te. Rs • Peter Pan is a story written by J. M. Barrie and first presented on the stage in 1904. Peter Pan, spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as leader of his gang, the Lost Boys.
• Wendy is the oldest and the heroine of the novel. She loves the idea of homemaking and wants to become a mother; her dreams consist of adventures in a little woodland house with her pet wolf.
• John is the middle child. He gets along well with Wendy, but he often argues with Michael. He is fascinated with pirates, and he once thought of becoming "Redhanded Jack. " He dreams of living in an inverted boat on the sea, where he has no friends and spends his time shooting flamingos. The character of John was based on Jack Llewellyn-Davies.
• Michael is the youngest child. He is approximately five years old, as he still wears the pinafores young Edwardian boys wear. He was based on Michael and Nicholas Llewellyn-Davies.
• Tinker Bell is Peter Pan's fiery, jealous fairy. She is described as a common fairy who mends pots and kettles and, though she is sometimes ill-behaved and vindictive, at other times she is helpful and she has romantic feelings with Peter.
• Captain Hook is the vengeful pirate who lives to kill Peter Pan, not so much because Peter cut off his right hand, but because the boy is "cocky“, drives the genteel pirate to madness.
