T’was a very busy session in Augusta 1 st Maine Rx Plus eliminated Save the State an estimated $100, 000 a year Put $ $ $ back into the coffers of pharmacies ! !

Bills not passed LD 694 – Practitioners would have to disclose every ingredient in vaccines LD 941 - Would prohibit mandatory immunizations LD 774 - Put Pseudoephedrine on prescription only status LD 1406 – Allow hospital pharmacies to provide prescription drugs to skilled nursing facilities that they owned LD 694 – Practitioners would have to disclose every ingredient in vaccines. “Carried Over” Bills Bill lives on to fight another day LD 612 – “An Act to Provide Reimbursement for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services”. LD 1364 – “An Act to Improve the Quality and Reduce the Cost of Health Care”… aka the 340 B bill. LD 1501 – “An Act to Reduce Opioid Overprescribing, Overuse and Abuse”.

BILLS PASSED . . . and we had our share LD 572 – “An Act to Amend the Laws Governing the Maine Health Data Organization Relating to Retail Pharmacies”. LD 1485 – “An Act to Promote Transparency in the Medicaid Reimbursement Process”. LD 1116 – “An Act to Restore Market-based Competition for Pharmacy Benefit Management Services”.

What’ Next ? ? . . . Legislator Education re Medication Therapy Management (MTM) In closing…Kudos Despite all the work… It was a positive year for Pharmacy in Augusta
