Abbey Theatre (Irish: Amharclann na Mainistreach), also known as the National Theatre of Ireland (Irish: Amharclann Náisiúnta na hÉireann), in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, first opened its doors to the public on 27 December 1904.

On July 18 th 1951 the house of the Abbey was burnt by the fire much of the damage was done.

Trivia He died of Hodgkin's Lymphoma shortly before his thirty-eighth birthday. Family Life He was one of eight children born into an upper-middle-class Protestant family in Dublin, Ireland. Associated With He and William Butler Yeats were founders of the renowned Abbey Theatre in Dublin.
