Outline l l l l 2 Introduction Existing Systems Proposed System Technologies Used Methodology Applications Conclusions
Introduction l Internet of things (IOT) is the buzz word. l 3 The future is Internet of Things, which will transform the real world objects into intelligent virtual objects.
Io. T(Internet of things) 4
Cisco’s Prevision l l 5 In 2008 the number of things connected to the internet was greater than the people living on Earth. Within 2020 the number of things connected to the internet will be about 50 billion.
Cloud based platform l 6 Cloud based platforms help to connect to the things around us so that we can access anything at any time and any place in a user friendly manner using customized portals and in built applications.

Technologies Involved l. It is a open source c++ library for image processing. l It has C++ , Python, Java and MATLAB interfaces and supports Windows, Linux, Android and Mac OS. l Haar cascade classifiers. l Real time image processing. 14
l. Google App Engine is a platform for building scalable web applications and mobile backends. l App Engine is free upto certain level. l Fees are charged for additional bandwidth, storage & instance. l. Google Compute Engine enables users to launch virtual machines (VMs) on demand l. Google Compute Engine (GCE) is the Infrastructure as a Service (Iaa. S) component of Google Cloud Platform which is built on the global infrastructure that runs Google’s search engine, Gmail, You. Tube and other services. 15
l. Android Studio is the official IDE for Android app development. l Android Studio offers even more features that enhance your productivity when building Android apps. l. It provides rich user interface components. 16
l. Tiny. DB 17 is a simple “database” that stores data on your phone. l. Tiny. DB provides a simple way to store and retrieve data efficiently and to store the data in long-term storage. l. Tiny. DB is based on the concept of a “tag” to identify the stored data, and the data value. Think of a “tag” as like using your name as your identification to look up your address:
l. PHP is a server-side scripting language designed for web development but also used as a generalpurpose programming language l. PHP code may be embedded into HTML code. l. Our system uses PHP to run Listener script. 18
Methodology On the Raspberry Pi and Cloud l l Step 1: - Face Detection Using Open CV Step 2: - Uploading the images to the Cloud Step 3: - Sending an Email and SMS notification to the registered user from the cloud. Step 4: - Wait for the next event to occur and repeat the same. On the Mobile Application l l 19 Step 1: - Display the latest activity at the door step i. e. , latest image from the cloud. Step 2: - Provide the option for notifying the person at the door with the appropriate message or preloaded message.
