Participatory Development Communication • Is an important cross-cutting dimension of CBNRM research, as well as a pressing issue for capacity-building. • Every CBNRM project has to deal with communication with the local communities and other stakeholders, but few demonstrate an optimum utilization of communication strategies and technologies. International Development Research Centre www. idrc. ca
PDC uses communication to build capacity within local communities by: • discussing NRM practices and problems • identifying, analyzing and prioritizing problems and needs • identifying and implementing concrete initiatives to respond to those problems • identifying and acquire the knowledge required to implement such initiative • monitoring and evaluating their efforts International Development Research Centre www. idrc. ca
Isang Bagsak Project • combines face to face activities with distance learning and web-based technology. • starts from the perspectives of each researcher • Pilot phase works with teams from 3 countries: Cambodia, Vietnam and Uganda International Development Research Centre www. idrc. ca
