Refrigerant Detection RBC-RD 1 -PE System Layout Liquid Line Suction Line Communication cable Putting you in control… To Indoor Network Sensor located close to the floor monitors room air. Emits audible alarm when 1000 ppm refrigerant (R 407 C) detected. RD 1 box near unit sends signal to solenoid valves and indoor unit. TOSHIBAAI R CONDITIONING
Refrigerant Detection Electrical Installation RBCRD 1 -PE Putting you in control… • Mount the control box near to the indoor unit in a visible location • Mount the remote sensor assembly low down in the room. Maximum height from the floor surface should be 300 mm. Ensure 500 mm clearance around the sensor • Connect the remote sensor assembly to the control box using a 6 core cable • Connect the control box to a fused 240 V AC 1 amp supply • For RAV units connect the FCU interface cable to CN 17 on the indoor PCB • For MM units RBC-RD 1 -PE connect the FCU interface cable to CN 21 on the indoor TOSHIBAAI R CONDITIONING
Refrigerant Detection Electrical Installation RBCRD 2 -PE • • • Mount the control box inside the compressor housing of the outdoor unit Connect a 3 -core supply cable from the control unit to the electrical box on the outdoor unit. Ensure a 1 A fuse is fitted If one outdoor unit is used connect the CDU interface cable from the control unit to the electrical box on the outdoor unit. Locate the 3 ceramic fuses at the top of the electrical box From the top fuse remove the small red cable from the right side of the fuse. In its place fit the CDU interface Putting you in control… TOSHIBAAI R CONDITIONING
Refrigerant Detection Electrical Installation RBCRD 2 -PE Putting you in control… • For multiple outdoor units, each refrigerant detector must be connected in series to the unit in the inverter outdoor unit. The CDU interface cable is only used in the inverter unit • Connect each refrigerant detector using 3 -core cable to the L 1, N and earth terminals in each CDU. Each detector must be protected by a 1 amp 240 VAC fuse • Connect the AI terminals in the control units as shown in the diagram • To complete the series circuit connect the CDU interface cable to the RBC-RD 1 -PE inverter electrical box as described in the previous slide TOSHIBAAI R CONDITIONING
Refrigerant Detection System Operation Putting you in control… • Low Level Alarm – 250 ppm (RBC-RD 1 -PE Only): When the low level alarm limit is reached: – The Detector Active LED will be “ON” – The amber Low Level Alarm LED will start flashing – After 10 minutes, the Low Level Alarm LED will stop flashing and remain “ON” – B 5 fault code will be generated by the indoor unit RBC-RD 1 -PE unit will not shut down concentration drops – The indoor Note: If the refrigerant below 250 ppm the control box will self reset TOSHIBAAI R CONDITIONING
Refrigerant Detection System Operation Putting you in control… • High Level Alarm – 1000 ppm (RBC-RD 1/RD 2 -PE): When the high level alarm limit is reached: – – – The Detector Active and the Low Level Alarm LED’s will be “ON” – B 5 & B 6 fault codes will be generated by the indoor unit, 04 fault code will be generated by the outdoor unit – The indoor unit will shut down and the audible alarm will sound if an RD 1 was activated The red High Level Alarm LED will start flashing After 10 minutes, the High Level Alarm LED will stop flashing and remain “ON”. The red Shutdown LED will also come “ON” – The outdoor unit will shut down if an RD 2 was activated – The alarm volt free contacts will operate to control any suitable external device Note: The system must be manually reset RBC-RDx-PE TOSHIBAAI using the reset buttons on the control box R CONDITIONING
