KL – Creation and Organisation 3 • Public transportation is critical to the economy of Malaysia and to the Klang Valley in particular • Therefore the Government has established RAPID KL which is the result of merging four separate operations – – STARline LRT PUTRAline LRT Intrakota Bus Cityliner Bus • Launch announced by MOF II in November 2004 • RAPID KL Management in place since February 1, 2005

Network Restructuring – Integration of Rail and Bus • Concept based on integration of Network Restructuring – Integration of Rail and Bus • Concept based on integration of rail and bus • Rail acts as backbone, bus to feed and supplement • Highly efficient network approach rather than line approach – Local pickup shuttles pick up passengers and feed into rail or bus trunk lines – Trunk lines move passengers into city hubs – City shuttles and rail feed passengers to final destinations • Basic strategy: provide downtown with completely overwhelming service and then get driver to leave car behind in successive stages, first at Hubs then at trunk-line, then at home. 14

Key Performance Indicators • Our Mission is to provide integrated public transportation in the Key Performance Indicators • Our Mission is to provide integrated public transportation in the Klang Valley. • The Government has generated KPIs for RAPID, also as basis for granting us an Operating Agreement, to evaluate how well we do that. • We will be judged by independent outside measurement of performance • We will be transparent to the public as well and invite direct dialogue with all parties concerned. 23
