Regular Lectures • 12 -13 topics offered each semester (at least twice) • over 400 students per semester • optional • IT classroom (30 students)
WHAT do we Teach? • Electronic information resources • Citing and citation ethics • Efective reading and evaluation of information • Presentation and rhetoric skills • Creative techniques for successful study (e. g. Mind mapping) • How to choose a topic for an essay or thesis • Time management – external lecturer (EL) • Academic writing – EL • MS Office (Word, Excel) – EL • How to write a CV - EL • How to prepare for a job interview -EL
Participants of Lectures • students of the FA – especially bachelor and master's students • Ph. D students • academic staff of the FA • students from other faculties – very rarely, especially FSS

Methods • registration required (limited capacity of the classroom) • focused on a practical training and usability in study and working life • feedback – online questionnaire (Google spreadsheet) sent by email after a lesson => We often find topics there for the next semester.
Evenings & Fridays • Evening school – 3 topics: Electronic information resources Citation and citation ethics Writing a scholarly text • Fridays – Unsuccessful attempt to engage more distance student

Cooperation with teachers
Cooperation with Teachers • basis: communication and cooperation with teachers • content: information resources relevant to a particular field of study (licensed, freely available); citing and citation ethics • duration: from 30 min to 1. 5 h • form: presentations in a classroom • future: Ø depends on relations with teachers, building a reputation, cooperation, communication, qualification of librarians (=> It's difficult to prepare a lesson of a high quality because of a large number of fields of study at the faculty. )
A Date With the Library • at the beginning of each autumn semester • general information about the library, its services and resources • mainly for first year students
