Design Considerations Cameras on pole require stand alone modem transmitter Video and PTZ data may be on 1 or two fibers n In a building to building, use rack to rack configuration 4 Video multiplexed on 1 fiber is less costly than 4 separate video transmitters and saves 3 fibers n Install cost of 12 fibers is same as 24 fibers – think spares n In brand new install, it is better to divide risk between electronics and optical cable. Example: specify 4 video mux on 1 fiber vs. 8 video mux on 1 fiber n When specifying 4 video mux with PTZ data, only 1 data is required. Since domes are addressed by keyboard, data may be daisy-chained on copper or a code distributor may be installed remotely n
