Complex Subject (use) with the verbs denoting sense perception (to see, to hear, to feel, to observe, to watch, to taste, to smell, etc.) in Passive Voice: Mr. Bob was heard to laugh heartily. The rider was seen to disappear in the distance. Birds were heard to sing in the garden.

Complex Subject (use) 2. with verbs denoting mental activity (to know, to consider, to think, to believe, to suppose, to expect, to imagine, to trust, etc.) in Passive Voice: He was though to be honest and kind. My father was considered by many to be a great man. The manuscript is believed to have been written in the 15th century. The meeting is supposed to begin this morning.

Complex Subject (use) 3. with the verbs to say and to report in Passive Voice: The gods gave Irene dark-brown eyes, which is said to be the mark of a weak character. The delegation is reported to have arrived in Geneva.
