Introduction The Pentacam (Oculus, Germany) is a commercially available camera based on the Scheimpflug principle. It provides anterior segment images of the eye. In addition, to a certain point, the system provides a density evaluation for a specific area drawn on the Scheimpflug image. The mean density, maximum density, and standard deviation in that area can be calculated [1]. It has been widely used to evaluate lens density [1 -3], keratoconic corneas [4], posterior grafts [5], intralenticular foreign body [6] and anterior chamber angle [7 -9]. However it has never been used to evaluate the iris density.
