Hydraulic System Presentation MENU
The A320 family has three independent hydraulic systems : - GREEN, - YELLOW, - and BLUE. Now, let’s look at the systems in more detail. MENU
The GREEN and YELLOW hydraulic systems are each pressurized by an engine driven pump. MENU
The YELLOW hydraulic system can also be pressurized by an electric pump. MENU
A Power Transfer Unit (PTU) enables the GREEN system to be pressurized by the YELLOW system and vice versa. MENU
Fire shut off valves are located between the reservoirs and the engine driven pumps. MENU
The BLUE hydraulic system is pressurized by an electric pump. MENU
In an emergency the BLUE system can be pressurized by the Ram Air Turbine (RAT). MENU
YELLOW USERS Each hydraulic system delivers a constant pressure to the users. MENU BLUE USERS GREEN USERS
MENU YELLOW USERS BLUE USERS GREEN USERS RAT ELEC ELEC 2 1 All the components we have talked about are displayed on the ECAM HYD page.
MENU Let’s briefly review the basic system using the ECAM HYDRAULIC page. . The reservoirs, . The fire shut-off valves,
MENU . The pumps, . The RAT,
MENU . The PTU, . The pressure indications.
The controls for the components that we have introduced are located on the overhead hydraulic control panel. Let’s now go to the ECAM HYD page together with the hydraulic control panel. MENU
The hydraulic system is fully automatic. However each pump and the PTU have an associated pushbutton switch for abnormal operation. MENU
Each hydraulic engine pump is controlled by a pb sw located on the overhead panel. MENU
Each hydraulic electrical pump is controlled by a pb sw. MENU
The PTU is controlled by a pb sw. MENU
The RAT may be extended manually by using this guarded pb sw. Module completed MENU NEXT
