Law l l Many law colleges around the country LL. B. and LL. M degrees can also secure office jobs in various capacities other than private practice Judicial service leading to the jobs of Magistrates and Judges Civil or Session Court, High Court and Supreme Court is also an option, but requires qualify the Judicial Services Exam conducted by respective Provincial Governments. 2

Requirements for Law B. A/ B. Sc. / B. Com. is the basic requirement to enroll for LL. B l However it is open to all professional and non professional graduates, without exception. l You can be a Barrister (Bar at Law) if studied Law in England. l 3

Civil Services l The Government of Pakistan holds annually an exam called CSS (Central Superior Services) which has many openings in the field of l l l l l District Management Foreign Service Police Taxation Customs Audit & Accounts Railways Post Offices Secretariats of different ministries 4

CSS Exam l Taken up after graduation in any specialty or field but it is preferred to hold l Masters Degree l M. A. in English l Economics l Political Science l Law graduates 5

Civil Services Jobs The jobs start from grade 17 of the Federal Government l The civil services actually run the day to day affairs of the government through different ministries. l Ambassadors, Consul Generals, Welfare Consular etc also come from the same service cadres. l 6

Civil Services l l Provincial Governments also hold such exams for their ministries. The appointments are made through Provincial Public Service Commissions of the respective province. Federal as well as Provincial Service Commissions also appoint lecturers in Government colleges. Direct appointments to various jobs in different cadres or grades in the ministries or autonomous organizations are also made by these commissions 7

Defense l l It needs no details as every one knows the role of our valiant defense forces, both in peace and war. They are the defenders of the country from any and all internal and external aggressions against the motherland. They are the ones who come to help in calamities, disasters, floods, earth quakes etc. It is very prestigious service of which you can rightly be proud of. 8

Defense Categories l Basically there are three main branches l Army, l Air Force l Navy l Many Sub Branches as well l l l Artillery Infantry Armored Signals Education Medical Engineering (EME) Intelligence (M. I. or ISI) GDP (General Duty Pilots) Fighter Pilots Transport Aeronautical Engineering Sailors 9

Defense - Eligibility l l l Higher secondary school certificate is the minimum requirement for all such branches Except for Education, where Post Graduate degree is a MUST Any boy or girl, eligible to join the forces can apply. Recently, Women have been inducted as General Duty Pilots in the Air Force as well as in the Rangers to defend the frontiers of the country Mass Communications, I. T, Public Relations, Psychology, Accounts and Administrative Depts. of Armed forces are also open to all without gender discrimination but after holding requisite qualifications 10

Benefits of Defense Services l l l The enrolment is through the selection boards who also advertise in the local newspapers from time to time. They have best career build up in any of the services offered in the country. Even after retirement, they are not ignored but properly taken care of. They offer the best benefits not only to their personnel but to their families also. Fauji Foundation is the best example. You can also build up your career as Doctor or Engineer as you will study at their expense and commissioned as an officer in the rank of “Captain” after graduation and completion of training. 11

Education (Teaching) l This is one of the noblest professions in the world l Honest l Sincere l Dedicated A teacher never retires, he serves his students till death l Their jobs are truly “Sadaqa e Jaaria”. l Government has also exempted up to 75% of their salaries from Income Tax as an incentive at certain levels l 12
