How to save electric energy? It’s very easy!
Average annual energy consumption of a detached house in Poland is estimated at around 200 k. Wh/m 2 for electric energy and 400 GJ/year for thermal energy, which amounts to 4, 000 – 9, 000 PLN every year!
How to save?
If you do not use electrical appliance (especially a TV set with remote control), unplug it! You lose a lot of money when you do not watch TV and the light indicating that the TV is in a standby mode is on.
Use an automatic washing machine only when you can fill it up. When the washing machine is not full, the energy consumption is increased by 35% in two laundries. Simle rule: if you increase the rinse time by 10% and decrease the spinning time by half after doing laundry in an automatic washing machine, you will achieve the same effect and save 20% of the energy.
There is not much difference for the products kept in the refridgerator whether the temperature is -5 or -7 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the difference of two degrees increases energy consumption by 16%. Reducing temperature in the freezer compartment below -18 degrees Celsius is unnecessary and energy-consuming.
Set computer sets so as the monitor would switch automatically to a standby mode after 10 minutes of inactivity and switch off after the next 30 minutes. The bigger the screen of the monitor, the bigger energy consumption. Turn off the printer if it is not often used.
It’s easy to save energy at home, isn’t it?
