Two continents – Africa and Antarctica – have never hosted an Olympics. The first host country in South America was Brazil (year 2016). The first Winter Olympic Games were held in Chamonix, France in 1924. Any city which wishes to host the Games can put their bid to the IOC (not only capital cities).
