Solutions---Incentives ► Insurance companies playing a carrot and stick approach with providers ► Blue. Cross, Well. Point have spent millions to help doctors go electronic ► Medicare, Medicaid, VA and Federal Government taking lead.
Solutions-What to buy!! ► Veterans leading the way !!! ► Electronic record system called Vista ► Outperformed other providers in a lot of benchmarks. ► Increased vaccinations to 94 % and saving 600 lives FREE !!!!!
Veterans Still Serving the Nation !! ► Veterans have modified Vista to create World. Vista. ► Easy for small practice to use and still cheaper than buying software. ► Medicare and Medicaid encouraging people to use it !!
Conclusion ► EMR will save $$$ in the long run ► There need to be incentives ► Implementation not easy ► Standardization Needed ► Use World. Vista if you can’t buy anything !!
