Ø Ø The object of the research is the similarities and the differences in lexical units between English and German languages. The aim of my research is to compare this to languages and to consider similar lexical units of German and English languages and to find out what do people from my profile group think about this two languages. The work performs the following tasks which are put forward to achieve the aim: to distinguish some features of reading in two languages, some features of sounding and pronouncing, writing and spelling, meaning and usage To make several researches in the profile group.

INTRODUCTION: English and German both belong to the Germanic branch of the Indo – European language family. Because they are so closely related, they share many features. It’s not surprising that many Germans learn English quickly and easily.

CONCEPT OF LEXICON It is necessary to give concept of lexicon and a lexical unit at this stage. Lexicon - science section about the language, studying word meanings.

COMPARISON OF ENGLISH AND GERMAN LANGUAGES AT LEVEL OF LETTERS AND COMBINATIONS OF LETTERS. In studying of the second foreign language it is important to start with any comparisons: letters (presence of vowels and consonants), a longitude and brevity of vowels, the combinations of letters, the doubled consonants and etc. Both in English language, and in German language all these phenomena are present.
